Then and Now
Viewing Then and Now is like reading a historical timeline or a street map. In 1973, he photographed every building along a six-and-a-half-mile stretch of Hollywood Boulevard, from Sunset Plaza Drive in the East to Hillhurst Avenue in the West. He made contact sheets of the rolls of images and put them away in a box. Thirty-one years later, in 2004, he photographed the same route again, only this time with color film.
