Theo Baart Tales from Suburbia Photography
Eiland 7 – Tales from suburbia adds a new chapter to Theo Baart’s continuing inquiry into the rapid transformation of the Netherlands and its effect onto the social and physical landscape. Eiland 7 is the name of a neighbourhood designed and built in 2004 on the farmland surrounding the village Hoofddorp which was the subject of his award-winning book Bouwlust (1999). Theo Baart moved there with his family and from day one photographed this new suburbia.
